Support Network

Over the years we have developed a strong network of caring OES families who are eager to share their ideas, the stories of crazy antics their fun loving OES, their tips on training, comparing notes on the development of their new family members and when unexpected situations arise they are there to help each other cope.  They have found homes for other OES dogs whose owners have found themselves in challenging circumstances, they have offered advice to challenging situations, and above all they have consistently offered their support and encouragement in times of need. Here are just some of the ways ion which our OES friends have helped on another, we welcome new stories and photos to share with everyone.

Toora
We rescued "Abby" from WA, she was a total mess, her coat was terribly matted and dirty, her mental state was frightening, she was petrified of everything, men more so than women, and she hated a crate!  We knew Shirley and Alex had wanted an older OES for some time afraid that a pup may outlive them.  We promised them we would take Toora home to us if anything should happen that they couldn't care for her, but now I kind of think their son and daughter in law may have different ideas!  Shirley and Alex brought Abbey, who we had renamed Toora (she hated her old name). As breeders we continuously strive to ensure that pups are always placed in great homes, I'm sure Tooras breeder had no idea how abused she was. It is folks like Alex and Shirley who have the patience and love to transform an emotional wreck into the loving dog that Toora has become. They are a precious part of our extended family who continuously prove they are ready and waiting to help any OES, or their family, in need of support.

Thora

When Thora produced a pup with hip problems we immediately had her spayed, she was then adopted by Joelyn and Paul in Minnesota, Thora has never had life so pampered and loves her new role as "couch potato".

Here Thora regularly visit the local nursing home where she brings hours of joy to the residents.

Sharlee and Oreo
"When Sharlee's owner had a big change in her family situation she realized she could not take Sharlee with her to her new home, Sylvia asked me if I knew of any families who may adopt Sharlee for her. I sent her photo and description out to all our OES friends and in a matter of hours Jennifer and Richard, who already owned Oreo from us, offered to give Sharlee a new home with her sibling. It meant too, that Sylvia would still be able to visit Sharlee. Many more of our families also offered to give her a home which just shows what a great group of families we have who adopt our pups.
