Simon was the second brindle colour pup born to Sif, you can see how
his fur has developed to make him a real Show Stopper!

The American Kennel Club states "Any shade of brown or fawn to be considered distinctly objectionable and not to be encouraged."  I don't know who decided this back when OES were first registered but this colouring was obviously in the  breed at that time, and I cannot see anything objectionable about the fact.  Actually I prefer the adult coat of the three brindle coloured pups which Sif has raised, their coats become silver gray with tips as though they are frosted all over.  When you see these pictures of Simon I think you will agree that the objection should be with the American Kennel club not with the brown or fawn colouring at birth.  To see another "brindle" look up Frisco in Manitoba, Canada
