Hi Yvonne & David!

Just wanted to thank you again for bringing our Murphy into this world and taking such good care of him in his puppyhood.  He is now fully integrated with our other dogs and full of mischief!  He is such a happy little puppy!  Nothing seems to bother him in the least.  He takes great delight in bugging the other two dogs and they all have fun romping around the yard.  He is well over 25 pounds now and seems to grow overnight. He is almost half Barkley's size now and Barkley is 2½ years.  Our vet loves him and says he is looking forward to watching him grow up.  Murphy gave his first alarm bark while at the vet and scared himself.  It was great!  He usually just barks with his puppy bark.  He is  busy out in the yard all day keeping Hal in line.  Imagine that human thinking he can rake or shovel without Murphy's help!  So far, he has only chewed on things he should and loves to play with the toys!  (The older dogs have a basket full from when they were pups and that they still enjoy playing with.)  Just wanted you to know Murphy is thriving and doing well in Oregon!  I will send you updates from time to time.  Tell his vet there hello for him!

Have a wonderful summer!  Will you have any pups this summer or not until next spring?  Not interested in another but am just curious.  Be sure to send any inquires about tails to us.  We love it!  His tail is wagging all the time!  We call him Murph the Smurf.

He is an absolute delight!  The other dogs had their noses out of joint for the first couple of days but is fully integrated now.  He is even sleeping with them on their beds.  He doesn't take any crap off either one of them.  It is interesting that he seems to know when he is being rebuked and when he is being rebuffed - when he is rebuked, he quietly takes it.  When he is being rebuffed, he tells them off!  He is doing quite well with his housebreaking.  Has averaged only 1-2 accidents/day.  Not bad for being two months old!  The most remarkable think is he has conquered the dog door already.  It is set up for Barkley so is a bit high but that doesn't stop him!  He has pretty well taken over the entire area. He has full run of the office, kitchen and hallway back to the bathroom.

At night, Hal goes to bed faithfully at 10PM every night.  So does Murphy.  He just gets up and goes to bed.  It is a riot!

Thank you so much.  We have enjoyed Barkley so much but Murphy has added a whole new dimension!  Their personalities are almost totally opposite.  Barkley is very hesitant about new things.  Murphy has a "bring it on!" attitude.  Life is never dull around here!

I commented that we will need to get another bed because Murphy is taking over the other dogs' places.  My son says, "Oh, yeah, a Murphy bed in the office."  (double meaning!)

So, thanks to all of you!  We love our Barkley and we love our Murphy!

Thought you would enjoy seeing Murphy today.  He is getting so big!  He is 2/3 the size of Barkley at 4 months!  It will be interesting to see how big he gets.  He has an appointment with the vet on Monday for his last set of shots.  He has had two "outings" now and has really enjoyed riding in the car.  He is fully integrated into our family now.  Really shovels in the food!  What a delightful dog!  He has such an easygoing temperament.  The perfect complement to our other dogs.  Thanks again everyone for the part you played in bringing us this wonderful new companion!
