Hi Sue,

I hope this little note finds you and your family well.  Is it finally starting to warm up up there?

The weather has been pretty nice down here, some warm days, sunshine, and a little rain to balance it all out.  The "kids" are doing great.  Anxiously awaiting the newest addition at the end of the summer.  Emmitt particularly likes to like his head on my belly and feel the kicks.  Chloe never does it, but Emmitt is always looking for love and even if it is a kick in the head from the baby, he'll take it.

Nothing terribly new to report here.  Both dogs are in agility classes on saturday mornings.  Makes for a long day for Doug, but he enjoys being out with his furry babies.  We're still waiting for the day when Emmitt calms down and acts normal (if there is such a thing for him).  He is as wound up and wirey as ever.  Chloe is as calm as a cucumber 99.9% of the time.

We had a little scare a few weeks ago.  Emmitt got out of the house and ran right into the street in front of a HUGE landscaping truck.  Thankfully it wasn't going fast and could stop quickly.  He is a very crafty dog.  He has learned how to open the door next to the garage, so if we don't keep it deadbolted (thankfully he hasn't figured that out YET) he comes and goes as he pleases.  He also dug up and chewed through the underground fencing that we had installed (hence he could get to the street).  We are debating how much work it is to have it repaired; or we may just put in a whole new dog run out back with their pool and soon to be doggie condo.  I hate to limit their space to run and play, but I'd feel better if there was a bigger wall for Emmitt to have to try to get through.

At any rate... I wanted to send along this little picture of Libby and Emmitt.  He is so gentle with her, it really is amazing.  He can jump on the bed and get all four feet in a 6-8 inch area so that he doesn't ever step on her.  Chloe has recently discovered her own method to keep Libby at bay.  As soon as Libby starts to really want to play with Chloe, she just starts licking Libby like crazy.  It makes her scramble to try to get away from the dog altogether.  Then Chloe will go and hide in another room to get some rest before Libby comes looking for her again.  (Libby has a new favorite place to sit, she climbs in their dog kennel in the kitchen and will curl up with them.  One of these days I will have to get a shot of it.  As well as Libby learned to drink like a dog from their bowl from all those baths with Emmitt)

I hope all the dogs are happy and healthy up north!!  Wishing you guys all the best!

And what wouldn't be complete without a picture of princess Chloe!
