Hi Sue,

I apologize for the delay in sending an update to you.  Tipper is doing excellent.  We brought him to the vet last weekend just to be weighed and at only 9 weeks old he exceeded the 20 pound mark.  House breaking him has been touch and go...when we're not home he's great about using his training pads but he sometimes gets a little lazy when we're around...especially when we or his brother & sister are playing with him.  He has only had one poo accident since we've got him...on day number one, and he most certainly wants to spend most of his time outside.  It however is not 70 degrees in Ottawa, but more like -15 degrees Celsius!!  I'm happy to report that he loves the cool weather and most importantly the snow.  He looks like a little bear just powering through the drifts.

Our biggest challenge is at night...he simply won't sleep more than 2 - 3 hours at a time...he has so much energy and wants to play, so if you have any tips on how to help us all get some more rest it would be great.

The other dogs are adjusting to him nicely and he very much enjoys chomping on their tails...I guess it's a novelty for him since he doesn't have one.  We'll be meeting the family from Ottawa that you sent our way this coming weekend, so I hope we do a good job in helping them make the decision to buy and OES from your family.  I'll be sure to let you know how that goes.

I'm attaching a couple of pictures...they're a little fuzzy but hopefully you can see that he's doing ok.

Sincerely,

Heather & Joel

Hi Sue,

That is absolutely amazing, and I'm so happy to hear that he is feeling good again.  I see your puppy family is continuing to grow...with several other litters being born this spring.  I hope that all adoptions go smoothly.

An update on our little guy (well he's not so little).  Tipper will be 4 months old on the 24th of April, and weighed in this past Saturday at a whopping 46 pounds.  He is a show stopper!  He gets so much attention from everyone, and isn't the slightest bit phased by it.  He loves to meet people, and is so bold where ever he goes, whether it's the vet or the puppy-treat store.  Our vet said he's the best tempered and healthiest OES she's ever seen...only one other OES even came close - while she had a practice in Toronto several years back she had another OES patient that was also from your farm - and she said that Tipper matches the other dogs beautiful coat, health & temperament!  She doesn't believe in show dogs, and has rescued two purebreds from a showing life, but she went so far to say little Tipper would be a clear winner for best in show!

He has settled in nicely with our family, and is finally sleeping through the nights.  His exercise increased when the snow melted and I think this was a huge help in not only his sleep patterns, but also his house training.  Accidents are almost non-existent now.

Take care & hope to hear from you soon.
