Hi Sue,

Baxter is doing great. Loves the snow and is a great addition to the family.

He is starting to develop a thick coat and when it comes to grooming him I need some advise.

I first brush him out with a rake to get most of the hair going in one direction and thin out the under coat. I then move to a steel tooth comb to finish him off and remove a lot of the finer dirt like pine needles, sticks, etc. The comb really seems to bind in his thick coat and gets very restless as I think it is pulling his hair and hurting him. He looks great afterwards
but I want him to enjoy brushing as he is going to need a lot of it and I don't want it to turn into a battle of wills!!!

How do you do your regular grooming on your dogs and what is your process. Should I be using something other than a comb or is there and in between step I may be missing.

Thanks

Merry Christmas
