While Thrud
(affectionately referred to as “Roo”) has not had a litter with us as
of yet, we are planning for a fall litter. “Roo” has made herself
quite at home with our other OES’s, Ollie and Maggie Mae as well as
Abby, our Collie-Shepherd cross. “Roo will be visiting her boyfriend
Buri in the summer with anticipation for an October litter.
I want to brag a
little bit about Roo. She is probably the most loving and in control
dog we have ever had. She is an extremely faithful companion and
NEVER leaves my side…in fact she has a bad habit of lying down behind
me which causes me to trip over her rather large frame. She has an
appetite that does not quite.
She also is very
mischievous….when she is out back with the other dogs and decides that
she has had enough, she jumps the fence (6 ft fence) and sits at the
front door until we notice her. At first this made me VERY nervous,
but true to her temperament, she just sits there and waits. In fact
our neighbor asked why we tie our dog to the front door, not realizing
she is just pulling a pout! Also she loves being taken on the leash
for long walks but is still quite nervous around other people and loud
noises. She is terrified of the trains that roll through here and
just recently I found she does not like thunder (who does!)
Also in the morning
when the dogs are being let outside, she rounds everybody up with her
authoritative barking makes sure the first three dogs go out then she
goes. She really is amazing and we love her to death.
